Which Canton Fair phase should coffee buyers visit?
For electrical coffee-machine sourcing, start with Phase 1, October 15–19, 2026: household electrical appliances are among its official categories. This is a planning route, not confirmation that every commercial machine supplier is in that category. Verify the exact company, phase, hall and booth before arranging a demonstration.
Coffee sourcing spans more than machines. The later phases may matter for a wider hotel or distributor brief, but their dates are separate visits. Do not stretch a Phase 1 machine appointment across the entire autumn fair.
| Phase / local dates | Relevant purchasing scope | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 · October 15–19 | Electrical-appliance sourcing | Exact commercial machine category, supplier and booth |
| Phase 2 · October 23–27 | Kitchenware, tableware and household items | Manual brewers and drinkware separately from electrical machines |
| Phase 3 · October 31–November 4 | Food and home textiles among its categories | Complementary hotel supplies; no machine appointment inferred |
Set a different brief for an office, a hotel and a distributor
Write one page that a supplier can demonstrate against: destination country, installation address or site type, drink menu, cup sizes, daily demand, busiest service window and the person who will clean. Distinguish a staffed espresso bar from unattended self-service; a visually similar machine may rely on very different labour.
| Buyer | Evidence to collect at the booth | Decision to bring home |
|---|---|---|
| Office operator | Mixed-order queue, milk refill and cleaning by the real daily-care role | Station count and care workload under concentrated attendance |
| Hotel buyer | Breakfast rush with actual cups, replenishment and recovery after interruption | A service layout and backup drink route for the busiest period |
| European / North American distributor | Exact export SKU, service documents, spare-part route and sample acceptance plan | A market-specific pilot shortlist before committing stock |
Separate a supplier announcement from a confirmed machine appointment
These two official manufacturer notices illustrate different levels of evidence. They are research leads, not a ranked supplier list or CoffeeFrame endorsement. Check the current organizer directory and reconfirm the appointment directly; a statement of participation does not establish the models or electrical versions on display.
| Manufacturer notice | What the notice supports | What remains to check |
|---|---|---|
| Gemilai · notice dated August 26, 2026 | Plans coffee-machine participation in the 140th fair | Phase, hall, booth and exact demonstration models are not specified |
| Emode · Phase 2, October 23–27 | Announces Hall A 1.2 / N05 and Moka pots, French presses, mugs and teaware | A manual brewing / accessories visit; not a Phase 1 machine appointment |
Build a comparison with at least two sourced configurations
Use CoffeeFrame’s machine catalog to select at least two eligible machines, then open Compare and choose one documented configuration for each. Keep the model identifier, configuration, reference market and source link together. The catalog is a preparation tool: inclusion there does not establish Canton Fair participation.
Compare candidates serving the same task. Keep tank and mains-water variants, milk systems, cooling units, grinders and payment options explicit. A missing field stays unknown; it must not become zero or borrow a value from another market. Record an unresolved condition in the buying brief so the supplier can answer it with a document or test.
| Comparison row | Evidence that makes it useful |
|---|---|
| Configuration identity | Exact SKU / version, reference market and dated source |
| Electrical and installation fit | Nameplate, installation drawing and every quoted add-on |
| Drink service | Your recipe, cup size, order sequence and observed queue |
| Daily care | Active labour, unavailable time, refill interruptions and named owner |
| Support and supply | Destination service route, spare-part references and included accessories |
Run the same demonstration on both candidates
Bring a timestamped order sequence from the intended office or breakfast service. Ask each supplier to use the same cups, recipes and drink mix, then include milk drinks, consecutive orders and a refill. Record the start and finish of every order, the longest wait, remakes and interventions. A single fast espresso does not establish mixed-menu peak capacity.
After the drink test, have the person who will perform daily care complete the demonstrated cleaning routine. Record hands-on minutes separately from automatic cycles and unavailable time. Ask which supplies are consumed, what happens after a milk-system interruption, and how work resumes. Photograph settings and nameplates only with permission; attach the results to the exact configuration.
Check the destination version before treating a sample as purchase-ready
For a European, UK or North American destination, ask for the exact export version rather than accepting “international model.” Request its nameplate, voltage and frequency, power connection, water requirements, dimensions with add-ons and installation clearances. Ask the intended installer to review those documents against the site.
Request the applicable declarations, test reports, labels and operating instructions for that same SKU and intended use. Have the responsible importer or qualified adviser verify their scope and the destination’s requirements. A logo on a brochure or a report for a neighbouring model is not configuration evidence. This guide does not certify a supplier, product or installation.
Confirm who holds the manuals and firmware, who can diagnose a fault locally, the spare-part identifiers and ordering route, training language and cover during downtime. For a distributor, resolve territory, branding, warranty responsibilities and replacement-part handling before designing a pilot; do not assume the exhibition agent provides local service.
Ask for comparable quotations and a sample acceptance plan
Send the same request for quotation to the shortlisted suppliers. Specify the configuration and accessory list, sample and pilot quantities, packaging, destination and required documents. Ask for separate prices and lead times for samples, repeat orders, options and spare parts; do not infer a production order’s terms from a booth sample.
Require the supplier to state currency, quotation validity, delivery basis and named place, what freight and installation cover, payment milestones and the handling of a failed acceptance test. Build the budget from written quotations and destination-specific logistics estimates. Keep cleaning labour, consumables, service visits and backup provision visible alongside the purchase price.
Agree a sample test before stock or a multi-site rollout. Identify the version and settings, run the same drink and care tests, define evidence for pass / remediate / reject, and name who approves each result. A distributor can use that record to decide whether a limited pilot is justified; an office or hotel can use it to confirm the real service layout.
Leave the fair with a decision record, not only business cards
Save the two-configuration comparison and export a buying brief that includes your destination, service pattern and open conditions. For each condition, record the supplier contact, promised document or test, owner and due date. Keep observed results separate from supplier claims and unverified brochure figures.
After the visit, reconcile the revised quotation with the configuration actually tested. Approve a sample or pilot only when its acceptance plan, installation review and support responsibilities are clear. If a key condition remains unanswered, keep the candidate pending instead of selecting the cheapest incomplete quotation.
Take these questions to a supplier
- Which exact phase, hall, booth and demonstration configuration has each supplier reconfirmed?
- Have we compared at least two sourced configurations without mixing their markets or versions?
- Will both suppliers run our same peak-order and daily-cleaning tests?
- Do the nameplate, installation drawing and destination documents match the quoted SKU?
- Who supplies local service, training, spare parts and a workable interruption plan?
- Does the written quotation match the tested accessories, delivery basis and sample acceptance plan?
